INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Comedian Jenny Tian is bringing her stand-up act to the Indianapolis area this weekend, bringing stories about dating disasters, relationship red flags and her unexpected rise to internet fame.
Tian, who has more than 1 million followers online, began posting comedy sketches during COVID-19 lockdowns. Her videos quickly gained attention, helping launch her career from the Sydney comedy scene to stages around the world.
Her debut solo show, “Picture This,” sold out, while its YouTube special has earned nearly 1 million views.
Tian’s comedy career includes two sold-out tours across Australia, appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe and London’s West End, and three Melbourne International Comedy Festival Galas in 2024, 2025 and 2026.
She also appeared as a cast member on “Taskmaster Australia” season two and received a Logie nomination for Best New Talent.
Deadline named Tian one of its stand-ups to watch in 2026.
Her third special, “Supreme Mother,” launched on Veeps in May 2026.
Born in Finland and raised in Sydney by parents who immigrated from China, Tian kept her comedy ambitions from her family for years.
“I didn’t tell my parents for four years,” Tian said in a recent interview. “They thought I was taking dance classes.”
Tian eventually pursued stand-up after attending an open mic night. She now lives in New York and recently completed her first U.S. tour.
Her comedy combines personal storytelling with observational humor, including material about relationships and the red flags she encountered while dating.
Her second hourlong show, “Chinese Australian: A Tale of Internet Fame,” sold out venues across three continents.
Tian will perform at Helium Comedy Club at 5165 E. 116th Street in Fishers.
